Queenstown Play: Day 1
On Tuesday we decided to start our Queenstown portion of the trip in style. We went hang gliding! We have both always wanted to try it and have to say we may be hooked! This is the next big thing to skydiving in New Zealand and since we both have already done that we had to try something new. We both did tandem jumps (of course) and had a blast. Below are some pictures and videos of our flights!
First, a picture from the top of Coronet Peak, where we took off from. "Taking off" is essentially running really fast until the wind picks up the glider (essentially a big kite).
One of the gliders...

Shots from our respective flights...

Steve's video of doing a turn...
and finally Vicky's ungraceful landing.
Finally, something that does not surprise us at all...

Sheep stopping traffic!
We went climbing near the landing site afterwards (there is a ton of great climbing in the area)...
