Kiwis

One of the great things about working at Castlepoint is really getting to know New Zealanders (Kiwis). In cities and hostels you meet mostly other travelers. We very much enjoy working with them and are understanding about 85% of what they say at this point (compared to about 60% at first). Accents in the country are very strong and they use a ton of slang (which Steve is picking up at rapid speed). Below are some pictures of our co-workers.
Above is Ben. He spent years 12-17 of his life sailing around the world with his family. Great guy and really good worker. Unfortunately he is done working on this farm because he has to work at his parent's farm next week. School is on break now but goes back at the end of next week.

Roger is becoming one of my favorite people! He is a shepherd so we don't see him all that much. He decided Steve needed a shirt without writing on it so he donated on of his for him to destroy.

The crew! From left: David (the son of the family we are staying with), Phillip, Ben, Steve, Greg, Brenden (Head of Stock), Ori (she is only 7 and adorable), Megan (her mom), and Willy (another shepherd).

Another shot of the station. All of the yards are on the top of ridges so we get some nice vista views. I guess it is easier to get sheep to go up than down.
