Hospital Flats

We thought we would just pass through Wanaka en route to Queenstown but ended up staying for two days (Saturday and Sunday) because of great climbing. Hospital Flats is a local climbing area, so named because it used to be a paddock reserved for sick or hurt horses, cattle, and sheep. There are still some sheep roaming around, but they are almost outnumbered by climbers!
